Bob’s ceramic work is carried in several east coast galleries and he participates in various regional shows each year.
This fall, 2015, brings a new large gallery exhibition: Bob Deane Mid-Career Retrospective which opens at Community Arts Center, 414 Plush Mill Road, Wallingford, PA on September 13, and runs through October 16, 2015. The exhibition, which features a collection of several decades of Deane’s work including sculpture and pottery from various eras showing his evolving style, as well as his paintings and drawings. The show opening is Sunday, September 13th from 2 – 4 p.m. During the opening reception, Deane will give a guided tour of his outdoor work as well, including large sculptural pieces and planters as well as other points of interest on the grounds of the CAC which has been his creative home for over 25 years. Bob Deane is also well known for his unique approach to tie-dying and bleach-dying clothing. There will be a special preview party and tie-dye event held on Saturday, September 12th at 6pm. Contact the CAC for additional details.
Paul Downie, Executive Director of the Community Arts Center, said, “The CAC is very pleased to host an exhibition of the work of Bob Deane. Bob is a beloved teacher and friend who’s had a creative home at CAC for over 25 years. He’s been involved with the CAC as caretaker, ceramics and Summer Spree camp teacher, volunteer, and a member of the Board of Directors. Bob has also been a member of the Potters Guild since 1991. Active in the community as well, Bob is a favorite figure at local events like Dining Under the Stars. I am personally inspired by the way Bob continues to develop and evolve his style, even at this point in his career while he displays a high level of mastery and consistency in his work. He is an example of someone who has truly dedicated himself to his artistic path and it shows.”
